You're Losing Me

The two writings below are what inspired the poem that goes along with the song, You're Losing Me, by Taylor Swift.
I can't put my finger on it, but it's like I'm saying goodbye to them and you at the same time. different people with a common denominator of me. hurting me. making me walk on eggshells. stripping my confidence. keeping me wondering what they really meant. if they were telling me the truth. Were you telling me the truth? They became you, and you continue to see it through. it took me so long to connect those dots. You never let me forget, I always remembered. I had no idea you were the trigger, my feelings felt bigger than the wall I kept them behind. you match the pattern just in different ways, I couldn't find my way in the Maze you laced together. It would sometimes feel familiar but a twist then a turn would keep me guessing what could be better. I felt crazy, lazy, made to play the jester. Not liked, barely loved, but these are the people who are supposed to adore the very core of who you are. not for me, though I beg please, you're leaving me alone in the dark with the monsters you created. It hurts to feel like it was fated, planned with scrutiny, I'd always try to Mutiny but never knew a life before her ill-fated naming. Your perception of my reflection was all I cared for, I didn't have any thoughts unless you gave them to me. haunting me and my memories performing your version audaciously. You repeatedly keep me feeling crushed against the ceiling of your emotional inability. You're counting on me to flee after you made me feel crazy, saying not to reel or make a big deal out of the small things. I looked at the ring you gave me, then back at you, realizing what we had promised each other, was never really true. I think we thought love would make it okay, but I don't know how when liking each other was never a part of the play. You thought I should be just how you curated me, and when that didn't happen, I knew the whole relationship would be ill-gotten. I left you, then you left me, and the only way for us to be anymore, was revengefully. But as time passes, and the last judgment lapses, we becomes forgotten, memories are no longer rotting, keeping me bound to the spiral staircase leading down to the vile abnormalities where we felt so at home.
I feel like my world is unraveling, and I’m the one pulling the string. But that's a good thing. fall apart to put together a new and unfettered version of me. one that's not compromised. one that's not waiting for something to be wrong. one that's not looking for things that are wrong so she can prove she shouldn't move toward her dreams after all.
You’re Losing Me
They became you and you continued to see it through.
Keeping me wondering if they were telling me the truth.
I can’t put my finger on it, but its like I’m saying goodbye,
To them and you, all at the same time.
I’m the common denominator, I can feel it.
Egg shell floors kept my confidence depleted.
Always covering their asses,
My memory kept on lapsing,
I had no idea, you were the trigger in tow.
Stop, my worlds unraveling.
And, I’m pulling the string.
But, that’s a good thing.
I had to keep their score,
What was it like before the war,
No clue.
Cause I’m unraveling.
My feelings felt bigger than the wall they were kept behind.
I couldn’t find my in the maze that you laced together.
It would sometimes feel familiar, but a twist then a turn,
Would keep me guessing what else could be better.
And I said I’d always remember your derision,
It was at the cost of my composition.
The pain of losing who you are,
Is truly underrated,
It hurts to feel, like it was fated.
Stop, my world’s unraveling.
And, I’m pulling the string,
But, that’s a good thing,
I had to keep their score,
What was it like before the war,
No clue.
Cause I’m unraveling.
Hope you loved it and if not, then fuck you.
